Did not reach 1,000 users. In the end helped and had about ~35 users. Made money from users, but majority of them were free users.
1,000 users in 21 days is REALLY hard. Might shift around the objectives of this challenge to prioritize growth of monetization rather than growth of users. Growth of monetization will have an umbrella effect over growth of users anyways.
$100 in 7 Days. $1,000 in 21. $10,000 in 42. Might be the new challenge framework for next time.
Where things went wrong
- My startup was heavily shut down by the school. I had several meetings with several deans in the school for my marketing and soliciting techniques. Colleges are always going to be against students charging other students. Need to either remove charging in the business model, or do it with even more stealth.
- Focused too much on the fun things. Like UI and design. Need to focus on the more important growth and monetization aspects of the startup. This is a business, not a hobby.
- General population is intolerant of entrepreneur mindset.
Where things went right
- Did really cool stuff for the past 21 days. I have many cool stories that I’ve been telling friends :).
- It’s impossible to lose with this mindset, this work ethic, this framework. Fucking impossible.
- This is the winning framework. Keep doing it. It’s working.

What I will do in the next attempt
- Chase money more. Chase more clients.
- A problem isn’t a problem unless you think it is.
- Problems will always seem horrible in the present moment, but in the long term they are just huge learning opportunities.
- The proper preparation can get you out of any bad situation.
- Conversation simulation. Archetype creation. Understanding your opponents psyche. All methods for getting out of bad situations.
- Outsource work to others.
