The reason getting a job is so difficult is because of how many applicants there are that you have to compete with. Of course getting a job is difficult if you have a 0.03% of getting it.
The point of cold email and networking is to remove as much competition as possible. Building a great network is work intensive but very worthwhile. With the right networking we can create our own nepotism.
Ok, so how do we actually send these cold emails?
First, we need to make a list of three target types. Industry, company, and position. ie what industry you want to work for. what company you want to work for. and what position you want to have at that company.
Picking your target industry and company is the easy part.

Now depending on where you are at in your career journey, you can either go for those target jobs right now, or get something on your resume first.
If you’re a college student with virtually no professional experience, I highly recommend starting with smaller lesser known companies and working your way up over a couple years.
If you have a couple professional experiences on your resume, I would recommend shooting for your target job.
